BOARDING DROP OFF & PICK UP CHECKLIST

  • Your dog’s food labelled with their name and amount to be fed.  CLUB FPS BOARDING dogs are fed twice a day, breakfast and dinner.  Puppies and special medical needs dogs can be fed up to 4 times (included in our PUPPY and SMN-Special Medical Needs boarding rate).  CLUB FPS DAYCARE dogs can be fed one meal (lunch @ ~1pm OR dinner @ ~4pm) at owner’s request.  We don’t typically recommend feeding at the facility for daycare dogs over 6 months of age, as most dogs prefer to eat in the comfort of their own home and meal time provides a wonderful bonding experience for dogs and their owners on the days they spend away from home.  However, we are happy to provide one meal to our daycare dogs, upon request.  We ask that you bring your dog’s daycare meal in a clearly labelled disposable bag or container.  FPS staff will let you know if and how much of their meal your dog ate, but will not be returning uneaten daycare meals at the end of the day (due to handling of food and safety protocols).  Due to allergies and food sensitivities, we have found it more beneficial to avoid using food rewards in a group environment on regular basis.  We still occasionally offer very small treat portions to our guests at times, such as friend’s birthday parties and special events.  If your dog can absolutely NEVER have even a tiny cookie that’s not part of their diet, please let us know so we can add a note to your dog’s file.  Please note that it is common for some dogs to have great difficulties eating in places different from their usual home setting and it is not unusual for dogs to miss 1 to 3 meals when they first arrive for boarding.  It is also not uncommon for dogs to have loose stool due to environmental changes and added exercise, excitement or stimulation.  We make sure to keep track of our guests eating and elimination habits and address any issues.  Please, let us know if it is normal for your dog to have a sensitive stomach or bad appetite.  Thank you.
  • Your dog’s medications, vitamins, etc – clearly labeled with instructions
  • Please, provide us with up to date proof of vaccinations every time your dog gets vaccinated (Rabies, DHPP and Bordatella).  We also accept titers for most dogs and consider them valid for 3 years.  Please contact us to discuss FPS titter requirements.  A copy can be emailed to familypetservices@hotmail.com for your convenience.
  • Please make sure that every item (travel bag, leash, coat, food, etc) that accompanies your dog for their visit is labeled with their name.
  • DO NOT bring toys, food dishes or beds.
  • COLLARS – we ask that all dogs wear a flat collar while on premises with plastic snap quick release closure.  No collars with metal buckles for safety reasons.  Collars must be well fitted and not too loose to prevent entanglement and strangulation.  We ask that all collars have a name tag on them with dog’s name and owners’ phone number.
  • Make sure to double check that you have everything you brought with your dog prior to leaving at pick up.

IMPORTANT HEALTH AND SAFETY NOTICE

Dogs with contagious diseases or parasites are not allowed to attend CLUB FPS. We are happy to provide care for injured dogs or those with special medical or health needs, but for the safety and health of other dogs at the Country Club, we cannot accommodate dogs with contagious disease or parasites.

Common diseases or parasites  include, but are not limited to: bordatella (kennel cough) and intestinal parasites/worms. Symptoms of disease include: coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, discharge from the eyes, nose, mouth, and/or visible parasites in the stool.

If a dog shows signs of disease or parasites while in our care, we will isolate him from the other dogs, notify the owner and the dog may require a visit to the vet. The dog is welcome to come back to CLUB FPS after the vet declares him healthy and free of disease or parasites.

We require all dogs to be up-to-date on their rabies, DHPP, and bordatella (kennel cough) vaccines. We also recommend the canine influenza vaccine, but it is not required. We recommend that all dogs use flea and tick control product, but please do not apply these products topically on the day your dog attends daycare, as doing so could be unsafe for the staff and the other dogs. We will ask for a copy of your dog’s vaccination records on your first day. Please provide us with updated records as the old ones expire.

Please let us know if your dog has any health issues that would impact his or her stay. Examples include: injuries, recent surgery/stitches, skin conditions, illness, history of seizures, allergies, etc. We will do our best to accommodate any special health needs your dog may have.

Please do not bring your dog to daycare if he or she is showing signs of illness. Symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, rashes, coughing, or discharge from the eyes or nose may indicate an illness that could be contagious to other dogs. If your dog shows signs of illness while at daycare, we will remove him or her from the pack to a quiet area and notify owners at pick up.

Your dog’s health and safety at our daycare is of the utmost important to us. In the course of playtime with other dogs throughout the day, minor injuries such as scrapes or bumps may occur. In the event that your dog becomes sick or injured during the day, our staff will assist him or her immediately to ensure his or her safety. We will then contact you, or your emergency contact, to alert you of the situation.

Please CONTACT US with any questions or for more information about this policy.

BEHAVIOUR REQUIREMENTS

At CLUB FPS, our pack is made up of many different breeds, ages and types of dogs. We separate our big and little dogs as well as our youngsters and elders for ultimate safety and comfort.  Just like humans, all dogs have different personalities: some are outgoing, playful, and friendly, and some are shy or nervous.  We welcome all dogs into our pack and with the guidance of our professional Canine Coaches we help each and every one of our guests experience overall wellness benefits that they can only get from positive and healthy social interaction.

We do not allow aggressive behaviour, aggressive play, barking, jumping up on humans or dominant behaviour amongst our canine guests.  Our professional Canine Coaches continuously work with our pack teaching relaxation cues and making sure every dog is able to play by the rules to keep everyone safe, comfortable and happy.  If a dog requires individual assistance, guidance or training to provide them with a healthy and positive pack experience, the owner will be notified in advance.  A special program will be set for that dog as part of our Basic Plus Daycare and Boarding.  Our clients regularly report to us that many of their dogs’ behaviour problems ease or disappear completely with regular visits to CLUB FPS.

Dog’s personality and temperament can change throughout their lifetime, especially without regular social interaction.  For the ultimate safety of all canine guests, we require every dog to undergo a Temperament Evaluation, if they have not attended CLUB FPS for 12 consecutive months.
