CLUB FPS DOG TRAINING & CANINE BEHAVIOUR THERAPY offers a unique relationship based training approach focused on creating a harmonious relationship between dog owners and their dogs through clear and consistent leadership and better understanding of dog psychology and canine communication.
LEASH HANDLING GROUP CLASS
Our 1 hour drop in leash handling group class allows the dog and owner to practice and perfect learned skills with distractions of strangers and other dogs in a controlled environment under the guidance of a trainer. Real life drills and scenarios help dogs and owners learn and habitualize new desired behaviours. This class is designed and available to all graduates of Canine Communication 101 and FPS private training programs.

PRIVATE TRAINING CONSULTATION
For clients that are interested in a private in-person training consultation (at the FPS facility) or virtual training through zoom from the comfort of your home, we offer 30 minute and 1 hour private consultations.
COST: 30 minute consultation – $119 / 1 hour consultation – $199
BASIC 3 DAY PROGRAM – Day Training
This program is a great fit for owners whose dogs are demonstrating minor behavioural issues such as pulling on leash, jumping up, not being able to settle on cue and general naughty disobedience. Easy and gentle tools are introduced with a step-by-step program for the dog and owner along with a detailed outline on how to achieve desired results.
DAY 1
- Day training for the dog at the facility with 3 one-on-one training sessions
- Teaching the dog loose leash walking, relaxing on cue, spacial boundaries
- 3 hour private training session with the owner at the end of the day
DAY 2
- Day training for the dog at the facility with 3 one-on-one training sessions
- Practicing loose leash walking with distractions, “Place” training with distractions, teaching the dog verbal cues through games
- 2 hour private training session with the owner at the end of the day
DAY 3
- 1 hour ADVANCED LEASH HANDLING CLASS. Group class practicing real life applications of relaxation on cue with distractions, loose leash walking with distractions of other dogs and people
PROGRAM COST – $899 (includes training leash)
10 DAY STANDARD BOARD AND TRAIN
This program is a perfect fit for owners who’s dogs are demonstrating any behavioural issues such as dog and/or human reactivity/aggression, pulling on leash, leash reactivity, food reactivity, jumping up, not being able to settle in a crate or next to owner and general disobedience. This program includes a brief Introduction to Dog Psychology helping owners understand why their dog does what they do and how to change it. This program includes 6 days of training for the dog at the facility with a trainer (2 separate boarding visits with a total of 4 nights of boarding included) as well as 3 group training with distractions classes and additional follow up consultation. The additional training days for the dog as well as follow up classes will help the dog and the owner to learn and reinforce new desired behaviours with greater degree of accuracy and ease.
DAY 1-4 (BOARDING + PRIVATE LESSON)
- The dog spends 4 days in BOARD & TRAIN PROGRAM with 3 one-on-one training sessions each day
- One-on-one 3 hour training session with owner on day 4.
- Lesson includes Introduction to Dog Psychology, as well as demonstration of the dog’s progress that week with trainer (+video footage). The owner learns what steps are required for the dog in the coming weeks for behaviour changes to start taking place (BOOTCAMP PROGRAM).
DAY 5-6 (BOARDING + PRIVATE LESSON)
- One to two weeks after the initial 4 day program the dog spends two days with the trainer with 3 one-on-one training sessions each day
- Practicing loose leash walking with distractions, “Place” training with distractions, teaching the dog verbal cues through games, addressing challenges
- 2 hour private training session with the owner at the end of day 2
DAY 7, 8 & 9 (GROUP CLASS)
- 1 hour ADVANCED LEASH HANDLING CLASS. Group class practicing real life applications of relaxation on cue with distractions, loose leash walking with distractions of other dogs and people
DAY 10 (PRIVATE CONSULTATION)
- Two to three weeks after the group class, submit videos for progress review, evaluation and feedback.
- Virtual or in person 30 minute meeting with the trainer to review the videos and receive recommendations for continued success

COMPREHENSIVE BOARD AND TRAIN
This all encompassing program includes behaviour modification, on leash training and off leash obedience with e-collar training. This 4 week intensive BOARD & TRAIN program combines professional training for the dog and private training with the owners to help the dog achieve high degree of accuracy in basic obedience with distractions. We introduce easy and gentle tools and teach the dog and owner how to communicate clearly and effectively for real life success.
This program will be customized to individual dog’s and owner’s needs to achieve maximum results.

PRIVATE TRAINING PUPPY PROGRAMS
Our puppy programs are designed for puppies from 2 to 5 months of age and focus on setting every puppy up for success in their life in our human world. We focus on teaching the owner how to raise the puppies and teach them desired behaviours in a way a youngster will understand and how to prevent inappropriate behaviours from developing in the first place. There are two private training PUPPY PROGRAM options depending on the owner’s needs.
PUPPY KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM (with one private lesson with the owner)
Puppy will be enrolled in daycare for 5 days (full day specialized puppy daycare) with one 2 hour private lesson with the owner – COST $699
PUPPY BOARDING SCHOOL PROGRAM (with one private lesson with the owner)
Puppy will board at Family Pet Services, Wednesday to Saturday (3 nights) and the owner will receive one 2 hour private lesson – COST $799
Puppy programs include: potty training, crate training, leash manners, nurturing calm state of mind and follower state of mind, impulse control, polite puppy manners, appropriate socialization with dogs and people, basic obedience: how to teach “come”, “sit”, “down” with lure and positive reinforcement, assistance to the owner in setting up an age appropriate daily schedule for the puppy at home.
The goal of this program is to set up the puppy for success and to help the owners prevent inappropriate learned behaviours before they arise.

*** Our programs teach the owner how to easily and clearly communicate with their dog in the dog’s language. For the dog to learn a new calm state of mind and new desired behaviours, the owner must commit to this program 24/7 for 3 months to create new habitual behaviours for the dog. The owner must fulfil the dog’s daily physical and mental needs for any training program to be effective. Depending on the individual dog, the owner must commit 1-2 hours each day working with their dog for the first 3 months of training.

INTRODUCTION TO DOG PSYCHOLOGY SEMINAR
This 3 hour seminar is instrumental in helping dog owners understand their dogs on a very different level (HOW THEY SEE THE WORLD WHY THEY BEHAVE THE WAY THEY DO), in order to be able to effectively resolve common behavioural issues such as leash pulling, leash reactivity, jumping, overexcitement and general misbehaving. This seminar is recommended as a foundational prerequisite to all dog training.

CANINE COMMUNICATION 101
“Learn to communicate clearly with your dog, so they listen”
This 4 week (1.5 hour) group class will introduce effective communication with your dog to achieve balance and harmony in your relationship. If you struggle with your dog walking without pulling on leash or lashing out at dogs or people… If your dog gets overexcited and doesn’t know how to settle… If you are struggling with nipping, jumping, chewing, barking, digging, resource guarding, etc…. THEN THIS COURSE IS FOR YOU!

Day 2: Calming the mind – Calming the body / Introduction to the “Language of the Leash” (1.5 hours with dog)

CANINE OBEDIENCE LEVEL 1
Once our clients have mastered the art of canine communication (Canine Communication 101 or 3 Day or 10 Day private training programs are a prerequisite to this course), it is time to teach our dogs the English Language. In this class we focus on teaching obedience commands such as “SIT”, “DOWN”, “COME”, “WAIT”, “GO GET IT”, “BRING IT”, “PLACE”, “LETS GO” and more. Through fun games and tournaments we make this class entertaining for both the owners and the dogs. Canine Obedience Level 1 not only teaches the basic commands, but also how to make sure that your dog reliably listens. 3 weeks – 1 hour classes

MEDITATION PACK WALKS
It is important to connect with ourselves and with nature on regular basis in order to lead a healthy balanced life. Join fellow dog lovers as we take a break from the day to day routine and practice mindfulness and calm while walking our dogs. This is a wonderful opportunity to surround ourselves with the positive energy of a pack, connect with nature and fulfil our dogs’ need for physical and mental exercise. Dog owners will gather in the Mill Pond Trail public parking lot maintaining a safe distance from other dogs on leash. The walk will start with a brief mindfulness breathing exercise followed by a silent meditative pack walk around the Mill Pond with our dogs (30-40 minutes). We ask that owners practice a “leadership walk”, leading their dogs on a short leash and practicing calm state of mind for the duration of our pack walk. There will be no on leash greetings allowed for the dogs prior or during the pack walk and we ask that everyone observes a safe distance from each other. This is a wonderful opportunity for owners to work with their dogs who can be reactive on leash, while maintaining a safe distance. Our pack walks are free!
